However, it’s not just an isolated place that’s dangerous by itself, but rather a threat to all of mankind. It’s a dangerous place, filled with mutated creatures, deadly radiation, and a strange, anomalous energy. The second explosion hit the reactor in 2006, creating The Zone as we know it.
In the world we created, the nuclear disaster at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in 1986 wasn’t the only one to occur. We see it as a standalone - and hugely important - character of the series. With our first video, we wanted to give you the taste of the atmosphere you will experience and the overview of the world you will travel through. We sincerely hope you were both delighted and surprised during the Xbox Game Showcase, as that was the ultimate goal that we aimed for.įrom the very beginning of the development, we were working hard to deliver the game both our fans and newcomers could enjoy. 2 is out, and we are happy to share this moment with our players and fans all around the world.

The current plan is for the game to be released in 2021 for the Xbox Series X and PC. 2 was in development, the reveal today was a pleasant surprise. 2, but it looks like the game will pack the same scares and sense of dread that became synonymous with the original game. We didn’t get any concrete details on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. It looks like the sequel will follow that same story. game centered around the fallout that followed the infamous Chernobyl disaster. We see an abandoned circus, destroyed buildings, and a look at some sort of creature being incubated in a tank. In the cinematic trailer, which can be seen below, we get an extremely atmospheric setup for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
The sequel got a proper reveal during the Xbox Series X games showcase on July 23, 2020. 2 was in development back in 2018, over a decade after the first title was released. It was originally announced that a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. The long awaited sequel to the 2007 game will launch on the next generation.
